Happy Easter

We had an "egg"cellent Easter day! We started the morning off by opening our Easter baskets. Brady immediately wanted to put on his new Batman pajamas that the Easter Bunny somehow knew that he would love. Cash became a master of opening eggs and eating the munchies inside (goldfish, cheese nips, graham bunnies). The rest of the day was spent indoors because of the crummy weather. Brady helped Daddy make bunny pancakes with jelly beans and Mommy make Easter egg cookies. Question of the day: "Are these beans made out of jelly?" We then dyed eggs and filled the day with countless egg hunts, Easter egg tosses, spoon races, balloon races, and crafts. Needless to say, this Easter bunny was "egg"hausted!

Egg Hunt

Saturday, I had an "egg"citing time with the boys at the Good Shepherd UMC Egg Hunt (Brady's School). We played games, bounced in moonwalks, giggled with a clown (Brady's teacher), explored a firetruck, and took our picture with the Easter Bunny. Cash warmed up a little to the Bunny today, long enough for me to take his picture. Brady was the egg hunt champion with a basket full of eggs amongst tons of other kids. Cash, on the other hand, just wanted to plop on his tooshie and play with the few eggs around him. We had many trial runs getting ready for the big hunt because Brady had a difficult time earlier in the week at school when he only found three eggs. After lots of practicing, we finally taught Brady to look at his prizes when the hunt was over instead of examining each egg as he put it in his basket. When the big egg hunt was over, Brady ran at me with a huge smile and screamed, "Mommy, I found WAY MORE than three eggs!"

Hippity Hop

Wednesday, I took the boys to the Hippity Hop at my old community center. I had fun seeing all of my old friends and the boys had a good time playing games, going on a hayride, and visiting with the Easter Bunny. Actually, Brady enjoyed it but Cash just screamed at the sight of the Bunny. It was pretty funny when the Easter Bunny reminded me that just a couple of years ago it was Brady that would not go near her. How bad the screams must've been if even the Easter Bunny remembered Brady. Ha!

Funny Pacifiers

Cash is not picky these days when it comes to his pacifiers, usually any round object will do. Today's top choice: a pot lid!

Update

All good! No stitches. But guess where Mommy put Brady to sleep tonight...the safe haven below ( luckily, he fell asleep in the car on the way home so it wasn't an issue).

Top Bunk

As I walked into Brady's room to kiss him goodnight, this is what I saw:

then this:

AHHHHH! I had the ladder hidden in the guest room closet since we purchased the beds. But for some reason tonight, it magically appeared. Greg swears that HE asked for the ladder and HE wanted to sleep on the top bunk. This monumental event wasn't supposed to happen until Brady was five or so. Or, at least until the little flopper stopped waking up with his head at the foot of the bed. It was my understanding that Brady didn't even know that was a bed up there. Leave it to Good ol' Daddy! I'm hoping he won't be able to scale the side of the railing in his sleep and fall off (Brady has been know to climb up on top of three pillows while dreaming in lalaland). I'll let you know how many stitches we had to get in the morning.

Post Hawaii

Guess who's back? Yes, thank goodness it's not Mommy....yet. We don't need to get back to reality….. just yet. There’s still time for a bit more fun before our Hawaiian vacation comes to an end. We went back to the Queen’s Bath on our last day – this time with Mommy and the kids. Let's just say it had rained a bit there since our previous visit. So whatever color our shoes were, they are now red (from the rich soiled dirt). Ditto for our white Sunday best – all a bit red. (Especially Mommy's backside!)

Next stop: lunch at Bubba’s Burgers. (Brady stole Mommy's shake so Daddy went back for one more.) With all the burgers, cheese fries, and chocolate shakes, we were well prepared to play “beached whales” back at the hotel. Brady made more “mud pies” and surfed with Daddy. We all enjoyed the beach – Cash even more so. (We couldn’t stop him from eating the sand!) Then a dip in the pool and of course the hot tub.

Pig Pen, Pig Pen Jr., Mommy and Daddy hurriedly packed before a quick shower. We had six minutes to spare when we reached our flight. Brady slept the majority of the way; Cash peed on Mommy 20 minutes into the flight then fell fast asleep. Mommy took one for the team and sat wet for the duration of the flight (7 hours). She didn’t retaliate by relieving herself on Cash (which she needed to do at the 25 minute mark). All in all a good flight for at least 3 of us.

We landed and Brady was most worried about going to reclaim "Super Spiderman", his favorite action figure. Cash just grinned.

From Aloha, to getting leid, to pirate island, to chickens, to paparazzi, to my "swavorite pool", to my "swavorite circle pool", to JonandKateplus8, to our 19-year-old chef, to Brady getting out of the pool and peeing in his shorts next to the trash can so Mommy didn't have to take him to the bathroom -- an incident that was not allowed to appear in the blog (see below), to mud pies, to a mai tai (or two or three or ....), to waterfalls, to the hot tub, to zip lining, to Cash kisses to Daddy, and of course to all of Cash and Brady’s matching FREAKING outfits, I hope everyone enjoyed our written version of the trip as much as we did living it. We had a great time, but now it’s back to the real world. With this Daddy bids you all adieu as the blog is turned back to Mommy’s hands.

There are, of course, personal reasons for this decision. “Your blogs are too long” was a common complaint. Daddy’s colorful language often got neutered in Mommy’s editing process (she felt that readers might be offended by the “D” word). There were even disputes as to which pictures were in fact “blogworthy” – not to mention the fact that some events were edited out of the blog entirely. Fear not, dear readers. Daddy has promised to “guest blog” on a periodic basis. We can still look forward to some of Daddy’s brilliant snapshots and seasonal live web shows. (Well, Daddy’s just kidding about the last one –unless, of course, there are enough fan requests.) Good night moon, good night stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.
