While the daddies played golf with their friends, some of the mommies decided that the daddies shouldn't be the only ones having fun. So we loaded the kids up and went to Arts of Glaze for some pottery painting and then headed to Hacienda for some mexican food. There was a total of 12 kids at lunch! We're hoping to make this a monthly tradition on golf tournament days.

The Gold Medal

Thursday, January 14, 2009
Brady had his first field trip this week to the Cypress Gymnastics Academy for the Preschool Olympics. Unfortunately, the parents were required to drive the children there so I HAD to go. Who am I kidding...I wouldn't have missed it for the world! It was so fun to see Brady interact with his classmates. When I arrived to his school, Brady's class was sitting on the floor reading a story. Everyone was perfectly still listening to the book but myself and a couple of other moms couldn't help but snicker as two little girls were playing with Brady's ears and hair just giggling. It was just like the Fall Festival when all the girls were trying to get his attention. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when the hormones really start racing in junior high. OK, back to business. While at the Gymnastics Academy, the kids participated in an hour long circuit and then received a medal. Brady loved it and can't wait to do "M-nastics"again!

Finally

Yay...the weather wasn't freezing and rainy so we were FINALLY able to play outside!!!

Touchdown!

Needless to say with all of the playoffs and championships, there has been a lot of football watching in our house. This weekend, proud Daddy had both of his boys on the couch with him for a few minutes watching the game shouting "Go Packers". Brady liked yelling "Touchdown" at every play as Daddy tried to correct him and teach him how the game works. We were all excited when there was a real touchdown so Brady could confidently yell "Touchdown" which he immediately did and then followed up with "Now RUN THE BASES!" I almost spit the drink out of my mouth because I was laughing so hard. Daddy swears Brady was just joking.

FLASHBACK: This reminds me of one of my sweetest memories of Brady Bear. About the time Brady first started talking at about 2 1/2 years, he went to his first football game. Before I put him in the car, I told him to be sure to yell "Touchdown" as I made the corresponding hand gesture with my arms stretched in the air. Brady matter of factly replied, "No, Mommy, that Touch UP. This Touch DOWN" as he bent over to touch the ground." You must admit, he had a good point.

We can't leave Cash out: Cash loves to play football and say, "Hut, Hut". His favorite activity by far is playing catch. Suprisingly, every now and then he really does catch the ball. He has an amazing arm and good technique too. We can already see that we have a future athlete on our hands. Get ready everybody to one day hear "and Cash Storms wins the game" on your TV sets. For those of you that don't know, yes, that is Cash's real name, as if Cash wasn't crazy enough. He was named after the sweetest woman ever, Greg's grandma Alma Storms, who we know would be so proud of both of her wonderful great-grandbabies.
