Brady's Thankful Book

Brady's teacher sent a sweet note home which read, "Your teacher is thankful for you because of your sweet smile and your good manners."

Here are the pages from his adorable thankful book. Brady made this on his own with no spelling help.
"I am thankful for my family."

"I am thankful for God."

"I am thankful for Jesus."

"I am thankful for friends." He says that he has too many to pick just one so he made a question mark.

"I am thankful for... the holidays!!!"

Cash's Thanksgiving Crafts

Cash is thankful for "Star Wars", "Superheroes", and "Pirates". Hmmm...not Mommy, not Daddy???

Happy Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Cash was mesmerized when he saw the Elf on the Shelf flying in the Thanksgiving Day parade. They are both so excited to get home and see if their friend, Nikki, has returned.

Brady, my good little eater, wanted everything on his plate for his Thanksgiving feast. Cash, on the other hand, enjoyed a roll. I did put some dressing on his plate hoping that he would try it since it's basically just bread but he didn't take the bait.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Turkey Hunt

Thursday, November 22, 2012

In Kerrville, Uncle Steve and Rene surprised Brady and Cash with a fun turkey hunt on Thanksgiving morning.

Brady and Cash were dressed appropriately in their cowboy and Indian Jones gear for the adventure! I just can not get over Cash's warmup and boots!

Everyone followed the path to the river on the lookout for turkeys!

Gobble, Gobble! Brady spotted a turkey and pulled it down from the tree with his Indiana Jones whip.

Cash had the task of carrying the turkey back up the hill. (Note: Uncle Steve rescued this HUGE turkey pinata from the side of the road last year and saved it just for the boys to have this Thanksgiving.)

Time to cook the turkey!

After cooking the turkey, we took it to the top deck to eat it! Well, Cash thought he should make sure the turkey was dead so he shot it again with his pistol. Wow! Times have changed! I distinctly remember a time not too long ago when I said my boys would NEVER have guns. Never!

Yum! Yum! Yum! I sure hope they think the same thing in a few hours when they get their real turkey feast for lunch!

Brady's Feast

Monday, November 19, 2012
Brady was excited that Mommy and Daddy joined him for his Thanksgiving feast at school. I do not know if he was more thrilled that we were there or that he a yummy doughnut with sprinkles for dessert!

A Thanksgiving Play

Sunday, November 18, 2012

While I was in the midst of decorating for Christmas, Brady and Cash entertained themselves by reenacting the first Thanksgiving. Cash dressed as a Pilgrim and Brady wore his Indian costume.

The Pilgrims and Indians making peace and becoming friends.

The Pilgrims and Indians sharing their harvest.

After hunting for turkeys,  the new friends set their table and had a Thanksgiving feast!
