4th of July

We celebrated 4th of July in the usual way by swimming in the Guadalupe River in Kerrville. That evening, we took our little city slicker turned cowboy to the local rodeo to watch the fireworks. Yee Haw!

Abracadabra!

Brady and Cash had the opportunity to meet the famous Ronald McDonald at a magic show last week. To my surprise, Brady actually giggled and eewed and awed at the appropriate times. He was quite amazed, so much that he’s now even doing his own tricks at home. For example, “Mommy watch, I’m going to turn this watermelon into a WATERMELON!” Obviously, he needs some more practice!

Toothy Grins

Last week, Brady had his very first dentist appointment. He did great! He proudly sat in the chair, wore his sun shades, and opened wide so the dentist could examine and clean his teeth. He did better than me – I’ve always cringed at the sound effects in a dentist office. Like nails on a chalkboard! In the same week, little Casharoo (who’s sadly not so little anymore) cut two more teeth - 14 TOTAL – making his smile even more precious. He likes to stand on the bathroom stepstool about five times a day and brush his mouth full of teeth just to prove that he is a big boy like Brady.

We can already tell we need to start setting some money aside for braces. Poor Brady has Mommy’s crooked and cramped teeth and lucky Cash has already developed Daddy’s gap in his front teeth. Orthodontist here we come!

Torture!

So…I leave for just one hour to get a pedicure and these are the photos I find of the boys under Daddy’s supervision. Nice! You just wait Brady, one day soon, Cash is going to be bigger than you, and pay back is hell! (Another form of torture is the way Daddy dressed them: The bathing suit Brady is wearing is from when he was 1 1/2 and Cash's sagging bathing suit is Brady's.) I shouldn't complain, at least the boys were still in one piece when I got home and my toes are now presentable!
