Cash's Christmas Recital
Wednesday, December 11, 2011
Cash was so proud to wear his fancy clothes to his Christmas recital.
Cash standing bravely on the stage in front of the large audience. He's yet to speak at school so this is an accomplishment on it's own.
Cash's wonderful music teacher, Ms. Melissa, had been encouraging him for weeks before the recital. She told him that even though he may not sing with his mouth that Cash could sing with his hands but that they must be big hand movements for God to hear (see) them.
In the beginning, his movements were very shy and small, well tiny really. He barely moved his fingers. If you look closely, you can see him hugging himself in this picture.
The more they sang, the more comfortable he was becoming. He's clapping here. After this song, Ms. Melissa singled Cash out and went across the stage to whisper some encouraging words into his ear.
Look! Cash started to move with the other students! Whatever Ms. Melissa said worked like a charm!
YAY, CASH!!! You better believe I was crying at this point! Even though Cash never uttered a peep, him dancing with his class is a HUGE accomplishment. I am so proud of you, baby!
After the recital, Ms. Melissa pushed through the crowds to come find Cash in his classroom so she could give him a big hug to say how proud she was of him. Even she had tears in her eyes!
