I haven’t seen Brady this excited to tell me about something after school since he made planchetta, his pumpkin tart for Halloween. The only problem was I couldn’t figure out what he was trying to tell me. This was our conversation.
Brady: Mommy, I made a “docking” at school.
Mommy: A what?
Brady: A “docking” like we have at home. (That didn't narrow it down much for me).
Mommy: A what?
Brady: A “docking” like we have on the “sireplace” Mommy! (I’ve always known Brady couldn’t pronounce his “f”s. Today I learned he obviously has a little trouble with “st” as well.)
He went on and on during the drive home about how he made the stocking all by himself. When I pulled his artwork out of his backpack I saw that it was a stocking for Jesus. I asked Brady if he had drawn a picture of Jesus on the stocking. He said, “No Mommy, that’s Spiderman.” Hmmm, I’m thinking. Then he goes on talking about a mile a minute, “Spiderman’s holding Baby Jesus. He saved Baby Jesus! His house was on fire and He was all by Himself so Spiderman went in, picked Baby Jesus up and saved Him. That’s Spiderman holding Baby Jesus.” If you look closely it really does look like a man holding a baby. I’m so proud that Brady’s art skills are improving but I think we might need work a little harder on our Bible lessons.
