Bluebonnets

Saturday, April 25, 2010

We took a drive out 290 to see what was left of the bluebonnets and were lucky to find one lonely field still remaining. Brady enjoyed strolling through the flowers and informed us that we weren't allowed to pick them only look at them. I wish he had noticed the woman putting a bushel in her trunk so he could tell her the rules and let her fell bad when even a four year old knows not to pick the state flower. Cash was not so fond of the bluebonnets. His eyes didn't light up until I was teaching them about buttercups and how he can give Brady a "butter nose." The buttercups were a hit and Brady did pick a couple of those for a few laughs on the way home.

During the photoshoot, we had to bribe Brady to smile by promising him a candy bar. We held our end of the bargain and at dinner told Brady we bought him a Kit Kat for taking such great pictures. Brady in his cute way asked, "Daddy is Kit Kat the spanish word for candy bar?" Obviously, we have been depriving our kids of candy! Next week, I might teach them a little Chinese and treat them to a "Twix."
