It was a big day in the Bartels' house today. Brady read for the first time! While sitting at the dinner table, he looked at his placemat and read the word “sun.” I asked him how he knew that and he said he sounded it out and proceeded to show me how each letter makes certain sounds and when you put them together they make words. I then showed him other words like cat, bat, red, bed and he read them. I was so excited that I pulled out a book and covered up the pictures and he read “Batman.” Yay, Brady!
