We wanted to get Daddy something special this year for Father’s Day and decided on a tent. We had been to a friend’s house recently that had a tent set up in the backyard where the Dad and kids had a campout the night before. This seemed to peak Daddy’s interest and I thought it would be a fun thing for him to do with the boys. Brady liked the idea so I took him with me to Academy to help pick one out the week before. Brady was really good about keeping it a secret until the day before Father’s Day. We were all reading the paper (some just tearing the paper) when Brady saw an Academy ad across the table and shouted, “Mommy, look, that’s what we bought Daddy!” Daddy laughed and I tried to play it off that we bought him the sunglasses on the same page. I had him going for a little bit until Brady said, “No mommy this one sleeps four, ours sleeps 8.” Jeez, after that, there was no going back; Brady even knew the tent lingo. So much for the surprise! For fun, the next morning I had Cash help me push in the heavy unwrapped tent box to Daddy since the suspense was over. When Daddy opened it, he saw the best gift of all inside, Brady!
